Content Provenance
How chain of custody tracking works.
What Is Tracked
Every asset carries a full chain of custody inside CR Base.
- Who created the asset (human, AI tool, or agent)
- What tools or models were used in production
- Every edit, version, and transformation
- Which agents processed or reviewed the asset
- Approval decisions and who made them
- Where and when the asset was published or delivered
- NILP® talent references and clearance records
Immutability
Provenance records are immutable once written. They cannot be modified or deleted. This chain of custody is the foundation for compliance, rights clearance, and audit documentation.
Provenance in Workflows
When a workflow runs in CR Studio, each step writes to the provenance record. A 5-step workflow (brief, generate, review, clear, deliver) produces a provenance chain showing exactly what happened at each stage, who or what was involved, and what the output was.
Exporting Provenance
Provenance records are exportable for legal, insurance, and compliance purposes. Export formats include structured JSON and human-readable reports suitable for audit documentation.
